However, we know that is not the answer our potential patients want to hear. Answering “no” essentially gives the potential patient every right to hang up the phone and call another healthcare provider who DOES accept their insurance.
So how do we go about talking to potential patients when we are asked this question?
We reassure them that they called the right place! These potential patients do not just stumble upon our business randomly or by accident. No, they either heard by word of mouth from their family and friends that we are the go-to chiropractic and physical therapy clinic in South Tampa, or they enjoyed our social media and blogging content enough to further reach out and initiate a conversation. THEY REACHED OUT TO US FOR A REASON! And by telling them that we do not accept their insurance would be a total bummer to them.
So what do we do instead?
It is our job to answer this insurance question through ENGAGING the potential patient in meaningful conversation. We need to guide the conversation by asking engaging questions to show that we CARE ABOUT THEM as a person and do not just want their money. We need to show that our services are valued and that we have the answers and tools to get them back to full health. By asking the potential patient questions about their wants and needs, and explaining HOW WE CAN HELP them, shows tremendous value. And showing value upfront makes this potential patient much more likely to want to pay for our services when they find out that we do not take their insurance. This is because they now VALUE THE SERVICES and what we have to offer as their chiropractor and physical therapist!
So do we accept your insurance? No. However, by not accepting your insurance, we are able to provide top-notch, high-quality, ONE-ON-ONE, patient-centered care to you.
